ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tyler Pierson holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Dakota. His professional experience spans roles as an instructor, research assistant, curator, and assistant gallery director. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Art at Central Methodist University and as the Curator for the Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art. His writing has been published in American Art Review, a nationally recognized magazine dedicated to American fine art. As an artist, he has exhibited across the Midwest from North Dakota to Missouri. Since his arrival in Missouri, he has won numerous art awards including first place in the Boone County Art Show. His most recent exhibition of 32 works focuses on “Dante’s Inferno.”

Specializing in illustration and figural narrative, Pierson primarily works with charcoal, acrylic, and ink on paper. His artwork explores allegorical interpretations, weaving symbolism and meaningful messages into each composition.
